Volleyball Drops CAC Contest to York
York, Pa. – Marymount University’s volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-15) to York (Pa.) in Capital Athletic Conference action on Thursday night.
Outside hitters Sharda Braxton and Johanna Hummel each tallied five kills for the Saints (9-18, 2-5 CAC). Defensively, Chelsea Gates paced MU with 12 digs.
After dropping the opening set 25-15, the Saints looked to even things up in the second after taking a 20-17 lead. The Spartans (25-4, 5-2 CAC) would rally though, winning eight of the next 10 points to take a 2-0 lead before closing out the sweep with a 25-15 decision in the third frame.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday, October 23, as it hosts a tri-match with visiting Lycoming and Moravian.
