ARLINGTON, Va. – Michelle Forster of Centreville, a Marymount University graduate student
pursuing a master’s degree in Human Resource Management, is one of three recipients awarded a
$4,000 scholarship by the HR Leadership Awards of Greater Washington (HRLA). The others are Lori
Glover of George Mason University and Lucia Gabriela Paez Salazar of George Washington
HRLA promotes and advances excellence in the profession. Established in 2001, the awards
celebrate outstanding service and strategic vision in organizational leadership, risk-taking, innovation,
vision, communication, service to the broader community and commitment to ethical behavior.
An HR ofﬁcer at the International Monetary Fund, Ms. Forster helps a staff of 200 navigate
their careers and assimilate into American life.
“Change, even the positive kind, is never easy,” Ms. Forster said. “But my ability to help
people through their professional transitions is never boring, always challenging and immensely
gratifying. Human resources work allows me to support this worthwhile organization and connect with
people in the most positive ways.”
Ms. Forster and the other scholarship recipients will be recognized at the HRLA Gala Awards
