Women’s Swimming Claims Another CAC Victory
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s swimming team earned another Capital Athletic Conference victory with a 117-88 victory over visiting Salisbury on Saturday afternoon. The Saints improve to 2-1 on the season and 2-1 in league action.
Marymount won both relays and five individual events. The Saints also swept two events, going 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Opening the day with a win, the Saints team of Taylor Hood, Jessica Hester, Kassidy Schmidt and Katie Moran claimed victory in the 400 medley relay while the group of Casey Thomas, Hannah Del Signore, Kaitlyn Eyler and Lauren Funk closed out the day with a win in the 400 freestyle relay.
Other individual wins included Schmidt in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke, Moran in the 50 free, Wunderly in the 100 butterfly and Thomas in the 100 free.
The Saints went 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle with Moran, Hood and Isabella Blecha completing the sweep while Schmidt, Funk and Eyler did the same in the 100 back.
Marymount returns to action next Saturday in its first road meet of the season at Randolph-Macon.
