Women’s Swimming Sinks York
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s swimming team outlasted York (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon, downing the Capital Athletic Conference foe 107-98. The Saints won the first relay and then five individual contests to round out the day.
The team of Taylor Hood, Jessica Hester, Isabella Blecha and Katie Moran opened the meet with a Marymount victory, securing the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:59.27. Claire Thomas then picked up the next victory with a 2:04.46 showing in the 200 freestyle. Moran followed with another Saints individual win, posting 25.80 in the 50 free.
Bridget Wunderly secured the 100 butterfly in 1:03.20, with Moran and Thomas adding a 1-2 contribution in the 100 freestyle, finishing in 55.43 and 55.54, respectively. Kassidy Schmidt, Kaitlyn Eyler and Lauren Funk provided Marymount with a 1-2-3 finish in the 100 backstroke, posting times of 1:04.83, 1:06.92, and 1:07.10, respectively.
Marymount returns to action next Saturday as it hosts Salisbury in CAC competition.
