Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s volleyball team picked up a key Capital Athletic Conference win with a 3-1 (25-19, 25-9, 12-25, 25-17) victory over visiting Wesley on Wednesday night. The Saints victory coincided with their Pink Zone fundraising event.
Using a well-rounded attack, MU (9-14, 2-5 CAC) saw five players collected at least five kills in the match. Jenn Forbes and Christine Gallart led the way with eight each while Erin Allison chipped in seven. Emily Shultis and Johanna Hummel each added five in the win.
Pacing the offense, Melissa Warren and Kayla Stinson split setting duties a posted 18 and 17 assists, respectively. Warren added three service aces as the Saints tallied 12 as a team.
Defensively, Michelle McCormick collected 17 digs while Gallart had four blocks to lead the Saints.
Marymount returns to action on Thursday as it closes out its home slate against non-conference foe Shenandoah. The match will serve as the final home contest for senior Amanda Dunn.
