Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball team fell 94-72 to visiting Lynchburg on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Saints even their record to 2-2 on the season.
Three Saints scored in double-figures, led by Reed Scott with 16 points. Jesse Konadu added 14 and Antonio Rouse chipped in 11. Scott and Konadu also led Marymount with five rebounds each.
A strong shooting performance by MU was undone by Lynchburg’s high-octane offense. The Saints shot 50 percent from both the field and behind the arc but were trumped by the Hornets’ 53.7% clip from the floor and 51.7% attack from downtown.
Two Hornets scored at least 20 points, led by Manny Hernandez with 21 off the bench. Austin Chillemi added 20 while Tucker Lucas had 12.
Marymount returns to action on Sunday as they host Union to the Verizon Sports Arena at 3:30 p.m. Fans can follow the action live by logging on to www.marymount.edu/athletics/mBasketball and following the “live stats” and “live video” links.
