Men’s Basketball Wins Season Opener in Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball team won its season opener 72-69 against York in the 2013 Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Saints will now face Dallas in the championship on Sunday while the Cardinals take on Lebanon Valley in the consolation match.
JC Hoellich posted a double-double for the Saints, recording 25 points and 14 rebounds. Three more Saints scored in double-figures as Antonio Rouse added 13 points, Michael Anderson chipped in 12, and Jesse Konadu posted 10.
Reed Scott hauled in eight boards while Konadu notched seven.
Jaron Williams led the Cardinals with 21 points while Omar St. John added 19 in the effort.
In the men’s tournament opener, Dallas defeated Lebanon Valley 71-69.
Ross Davidson led the way with 23 points while Nate Wilson added 20 to lift the Crusaders to the championship match. The pair combined to go 6-for-10 from three-point range.
Kevin Agnew paced Lebanon Valley with a game-high 26 points in the loss.
