Washington, D.C. – Marymount University’s women’s soccer team partnered with KICKS Against Breast Cancer, Trinity (D.C.) University and Greensboro College over the weekend as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The trio of programs played a pair of games to help raise money and awareness of breast cancer.
KICKS Against Breast Cancer is a non-profit soccer organization which promotes women’s health and well being by emphasizing the importance of early identification of breast cancer and by providing essential resources to patients undergoing treatment. KICKS was founded in 1998 by Louise Waxler in honor of her friend Claudia Mayer who lost her battle to breast cancer and has raised over $800,000 since 1997.
