Men’s Basketball Announces 2013-14 Schedule
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball team has released its 2013-14 schedule, as announced by head coach Chris Rogers on Friday. The Saints return an experienced squad and look to make a trip to the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time since 2009-10.
Six games against a trio of teams that made the 2013 NCAA Tournament highlight the 2013-14 slate. The Saints battle defending CAC champs and Elite Eight squad St. Mary’s (Md.), league newcomer Christopher Newport and conference foe Wesley twice each during the campaign.
Marymount opens up the campaign by hosting the 2013 Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament on November 16-17. The Saint battle York (N.Y.) in the opener on Saturday before taking on either Lebanon Valley or Dallas in the final round on Sunday.
Following the Tip-Off Tournament, the Saints host four of their next six games with road trips at Ursinus and Southern Virginia along with home games versus Bard and former CAC member Goucher before heading into CAC play by hosting Wesley and Mary Washington. Marymount closes out the calendar year with a road trip to Ferrum.
Opening up the New Year, the Saints host Lynchurg on January 2 and alternate home and away games while hosting two back-to-back contests only once before the conference tournament.
Key league match-ups include a home-and-home series in January against St. Mary’s, a road trip to Christopher Newport on January 18 and hosting Salisbury on January 22.
In February, the Saints travel to Wesley and Mary Washington in back-to-back weeks while hosting CNU in the regular season finale.
