Men’s Hoops Closes Out Season Victorious
Owings Mills, Md. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball team wrapped up the 2010-11 campaign with a 95-88 victory over Stevenson on Saturday. With the win, the Saints sweep the Mustangs on the year.
Five Saints (6-19, 4-12 CAC) scored in double-figures, led by John Magnani’s 21 points. Tarek Ammoury added 17, Reed Scott chipped in 15 off the bench, Keenan Brown had 13 and Mac Kennedy chimed in with 10.
Marymount shot a stellar 66 percent from the floor and went 12-for-23 from three-point range. The Saints dominated the paint, outscoring Stevenson 52-22 down low.
Taking advantage of SU’s muscues, the Saints scored 40 points off of 24 Stevenson turnovers.
Brett Burrier led the Mustangs and all scorers with 39 points. Joe Hindle added 13, Greg Woody had 11 and Danny Murphy chipped in 10.
