Men’s Golf 9th at Virginia State Intercollegiate
Nellysford, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s golf team is in ninth place after the first round of the Virginia State Intercollegiate Championship on Saturday. The Saints shot a team score of 374.
Peter Johns is tied for 30th overall with a first round score of 84 while Nick Ryerson’s 85 places him right behind his teammate in 34th place. Rounding out the Saints’ competition, Jon Watson shot a 90 for 37th place while Jeremy Brenton’s 115 put him 43rd.
Washington & Lee leads the opening round with a team score of 298 while Roanoke is right behind with a 301. Also in the hunt is Randolph-Macon with a 305 and Hampden-Sydney with a first round 306. Averett posted a 315, Ferrum shot a 318 and Shenandoah, Virginia Wesleyan and Marymount rounded out the day with a 338, 356 and 374, respectively.
