York, Pa. – Marymount University junior women’s lacrosse player Tancy Weatherford was named Second Team All-Capital Athletic Conference, as announced by the league office on Friday. Weatherford becomes the 19th Saint to garner All-CAC accolades in program history and the seventh under the tenure of current head coach Jamie Reynolds.
A local product out of Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, Weatherford led the Saints in scoring with 47 points on 33 goals and 14 assists. She collected 34 draw controls, 12 ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers.
Weatherford was tabbed CAC Player of the Week on April 4th after tallying 12 goals and an assist against #17 Mary Washington and Hood. The Saints went 1-1 in those games and nearly pulled a come-from-behind upset of their rival Eagles.
Marymount went 5-9 overall and 2-6 in the CAC in 2011. The Saints graduate just three seniors and return 14 letterwinners for 2012, including Weatherford.
