Men’s Soccer Falls to Rival Catholic

Washington, D.C. – Marymount University’s men’s soccer team fell to non-conference rival Catholic 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon. The Saints drop to 1-3-1 overall on the season going into league play on Saturday.

Onar Yousefi and Wais Ansary both scored for Marymount in the loss. The duo became the fifth and sixth different Saints to score goals his season while no player has notched more than two.

Catholic (3-2-0) took an early 3-0 lead over the first 15 minutes of play before Yousefi put the Saints on the board in the 33rd minute. The Cardinals would add a pair of second half goals before Ansary logged his score at the 85:58 mark.

Juan Aguilar collected seven saves in his first start of the year for MU while Daniel Keefe held CUA scoreless for the last 25 minutes of the game in relief. Keefe added a pair of saves off the bench.

Marymount returns to action on Saturday as it hosts Capital Athletic Conference foe and defending league champion York (Pa.). Game time is set for 11:30 at nearby Washington-Lee High School.
