Men’s Lacrosse Falls in CAC Tournament

St. Mary’s City, Md. – Marymount University’s men’s lacrosse team dropped a 14-5 decision to St. Mary’s (Md.) in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament on Sunday afternoon. The Saints, seeded sixth in the draw, close out the season 5-11 overall.

David Huson and Danny Carson led the Saints with two goals each. Michael Mene added the lone remaining goal for the Blue and White while Lance Bernecker chipped in an assist.

Huson, Carson and Vince Lodato all led MU with four ground balls. Connor Kellogg added three for the Saints.

In goal, Ross Fernandez collected 14 saves in the loss. He closes out his career by moving into fourth place all-time in total saves in program history.

Will Lerch and Matt Tarrant paced the Seahawks with three goals each.

Marymount closes out the season 5-11. The Saints reached the CAC playoffs for the first time since 2008.
