Men’s Lacrosse Falls in Overtime in CAC Action
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s lacrosse team fell 8-7 on the road at Capital Athletic Conference foe Wesley in overtime on Wednesday night. The Saints drop to 7-6 overall and 0-5 in league play.
Connor Kellogg, Nico Burns and George Pugh each scored a pair of goals to lead the Saints while Jack Burke added another. Ian Gordon contributed four assists with Kellogg chipping in another.
One of the top man-up situation teams in the nation, the Saints went 3-for-5 on the day including 3-for-4 in the second quarter.
Defensively, Max Rowse and Chris Madison paced MU with three caused turnovers each. Rowse and Gordon both collected five ground balls while Kellogg, Pugh and Madison all added three.
In goal, Derek DiGiovanni hauled in 21 saves in the loss.
Mike Rakos led Wesley (5-7, 1-4 CAC) with two goals.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday as it closes out the regular season on the road at CAC rival Mary Washington.
