Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s soccer team fell 2-0 to visiting York (Pa.) in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday.
Playing to a scoreless first half, the Spartans (6-10, 6-2 CAC) put the first goal on the board in the 49th minute. York would add another at the 63:57 mark to put the game away.
Despite the deficit, MU (4-10, 0-7 CAC) continued to play hard and nearly cut the YCP lead in half as Danni Bankins careened a shot off the far post from 30 yards out late in the second frame.
In goal, Victoria Wyand collected three saves before leaving the game after a collision in the box. Gaby Prellezo then came in and hauled in another four saves for the Saints.
Marymount returns to action on Monday as it hosts former CAC foe Goucher.
