York, Pa. – Marymount University junior Anna Macedonia was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Macedonia won three individual heats and placed second in a relay event over the weekend.
Macedonia opened a tri-meet against Washington & Jefferson and York (Pa.) with a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay, teaming with Emily Wagner, Jackie Finn and Meghan Morch for a time of 1:57.65.
Racing in a trio of individual events, Macedonia won all three. She took top honors in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.67, won the 200 backstroke at 2:11.03 and placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.76.
Macedonia currently holds the top CAC times in the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and is second in the 200 IM by half a second.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday, November 13, against Hood in the Saints’ home opener at 2 p.m.
