Women's Lacrosse Wins Third-Straight
Aston, Pa. – Marymount University’s women’s lacrosse team won its third-straight game of the season with a decisive 19-8 victory over Neumann on Wednesday. The Saints move to 3-1 on the year and have posted the best start in the tenure of current head coach Jamie Reynolds.
Stephanie Flood led the Saints with five goals while Katie Dean and Tancy Weatherford added hat-tricks with three goals each. Lindsay Quinn, Lindsay Bullock and Susan Jung all chipped in a pair of goals as Chelsea Ritter and Lori Renner rounded out MU’s scoring with a goal apiece.
Flood paced MU with four ground balls while Cecilia Pasquale added three. Weatherford collected a team-high six draw controls as Ritter added five. Pasquale also led the Saints with a pair of caused turnovers.
Between the pipes, Erika Dommes picked up the victory while collecting three saves. Lourdes Lanzas closed out the game and earned a save as well.
Marymount opened the game with four-straight goals in the first 11 minutes of play. Trading goals back-and-forth, the Saints would hit consecutive goals to end the half and take an 8-4 lead going into the break.
Coming out of halftime, MU notched five unanswered goals to start the frame and scored 10 of the first 11 goals in the stanza to put the game out of reach for the Knights.
Meghan Garsey led Neumann with three goals. Alexandra Bohen and Erica Crabtree both had a pair while Lauren Frampton chipped in the final goal.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday on the road at Washington & Lee.
