Beth Ann Wilson Earns Career Win #300, Jenn Forbes Named All-Tournament at VWC Invitational
Virginia Beach, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s volleyball head coach Beth Ann Wilson collected her 300th career victory during the Saints 2012 opening weekend at the Virginia Wesleyan Invitational. The Saints fell 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-19) before defeating Mt. Aloysius 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-18) for Wilson’s 300th on the first day of action on Friday. Marymount then lost 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 26-28, 25-23) to Lawrence and 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-11) on day two on Saturday.
Senior Jenn Forbes earned All-Tournament Team honors after leading the Saints (1-3) with 2.77 kills per set at a .233 clip. She added 10 total blocks on the weekend and added a pair of service aces.
Also impressive on the weekend was sophomore Erin Allison. She averaged 2.58 kps while Johanna Hummel and Erin Allison each chipped in more at one kill a frame.
Defensively, Michelle McCormick led MU with 4.85 digs per set while Cassidie Watson added 4.08 dps. Courtny Carroll and Kayla Stinson both averaged over three digs a stanza and both Brianne Fitzpatrick and Courtney Phung added over two a set.
