Men’s Swimming Edged by York
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s swimming team fell to York (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon, dropping the Capital Athletic Conference match 125-80. The Saints won their first relay and three individual races on the day.
The team of Matthew Essig, Joseph Gardner, James Gibbons and Tyler Hayes secured the first victory of the day, opening the meet with a 1:44.58 showing in the 200 medley relay. Gardner then posted the next Marymount win in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:09.18.
The Saints recorded a 1-2 finish in the 100 butterfly as Robert Klazynski and Gibbons posted times of 56.41 and 57.32, respectively. Essig rounded out the Saints victory column with a 57.85 showing in the 100 backstroke.
Marymount returns to action next Saturday as it hosts Salisbury in CAC competition.
