Women’s Volleyball Splits Tri-Match
Lexington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s volleyball team split a pair of matches at a non-conference tri-match on Saturday afternoon. The Saints opened the day with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-11, 25-13) over Hollins before falling 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-9) to host Washington & Lee.
Marymount moves to 13-8 overall on the season.
Morgan McAlpin led the Saints with 12 kills against Hollins while Emileigh Rettig added nine and Erin Allison had seven. Marymount recorded 15 total service aces with Cassidie Watson, Courtney Phung and Brianne Fitzpatrick each tallying three.
Defensively, Watson led the way with 15 digs while Phung added 12. Emily Shultis and McAlpin both notched three blocks at the net.
Against W&L, Allison paced the Blue and White with 10 kills with McAlpin adding eight and Rettig chipping in seven.
Fitzpatrick led the offense with 28 assists while Rettig notched 16 digs.
