Men’s Soccer Drops CAC Finale
Frostburg, Md. – Marymount University’s men’s soccer team fell 3-1 at Frostburg State in its Capital Athletic Conference finale on Saturday. Despite the loss, the Saints clinch the fourth-seed in the CAC Tournament and hosting duties in the opening round.
Frostburg jumped on the board early with a penalty kick goal in the fifth minute. Marymount responded in full almost six minutes later as Onar Yousefi added a PK goal of his own at the 10:48 mark.
Coming out of halftime ties 1-1, the Bobcats scored what would be the game-winner less than three minutes into the frame off a corner kick. Frostburg State would then add a cushion goal in the 85th minute to seal the win.
Mike Madigan collected 10 saves in goal for the Saints.
Marymount returns to action on Sunday, October 28th, as it hosts fifth-seeded Mary Washington in the First Round of the CAC Tournament. The Saints defeated the Eagles 1-0 in the regular season.
