Tynisha Parks Named CAC Player of the Week
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University senior forward Tynisha Parks was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Parks led the Saints to a pair of wins, including their 20th of the season, to clinch the top-seed in the upcoming CAC Tournament.
Parks posted two double-doubles on the week, averaging 17 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. She shot 50 percent from the floor and 88.9% from the free throw line.
Opening the week with a win at Salisbury, Parks scored 21 points to go with 11 rebounds. She added four steals and a pair of assists in the win.
In the regular season home finale against St. Mary’s (Md.), Parks scored a game-high 13 points to go with a game-best 14 rebounds. With the win, the Saints posted their 17th season with 20 wins or more.
Marymount returns to the hardwood on Wednesday as it closes out the regular season at Frostburg State. The Saints have clinched a first round bye in the CAC Tournament and will host the semifinals on Thursday, February 21st, against a team to be determined.
