Women’s Soccer Falls in Season Finale
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Frostburg State in its Capital Athletic Conference season finale. The Saints close out the 2013 season 5-11 overall and 2-6 in league play.
Giving up an early goal in the 15th minute, Marymount responded with a goal of its own just under eight minutes later. Chloe McAuliffe found herself the beneficiary of a deflected shot from Kailyn Henson, sending a long shot from the left wing across the box to beat the Bobcat keeper far post and pushing a 1-1 draw into halftime.
Coming out of the break, Frostburg (8-7-2, 4-2-2 CAC) outshot the Saints 15-4 in the frame to post a pair of unanswered goals.
April Westmark collected 10 saves between the pipes for Marymount.
Marymount returns 17 lettewinners in 2014, including its top eight scorers and all three goalkeepers.
