Women’s Cross Country’s Jessie Daley Named CAC Rookie of Year

Salisbury, Md. – Marymount University freshman Jessie Daley was named the 2010 Capital Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year on Saturday. Daley finished second overall at the CAC Championships as the Saints placed seventh overall.

Finishing the 5K race with a time of 22:43, Daley trailed the winner and CAC Athlete of the Year Mandy Parshall by a mere eight seconds. Daley is the second Saints runner to earn league ROY honors, following Sara Leslie in 2003.

Marymount picked up 166 team points to place seventh, topping Stevenson and Wesley.

Dana Mannarino finished 27th with a time of 24:41 while Megan McMinn and Meryem Noucair placed 56th and 57th with times of 28:09 and 28:29, respectively. Summer Penrose and Rachael Raske rounded out the Saints runners, finishing 62nd and 69th with times, respectively, with times of 29:57 and 35:16.
