Women’s Soccer Falls at Shenandoah
Winchester, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s soccer team fell 5-1 to Shenandoah on the road on Thursday night. The Saints notched the first goal of the game right off the bat before the host Hornets rallied back with five unanswered goals for the win.
Beth Wiggins put the first goal on the board almost immediately for MU (4-6), scoring just 38 seconds into the game.
The Saints wouldn’t be able to continue at that pace, however, compiling just five more shots against SU (6-4-3) the rest of the game.
Shenandoah knotted the game at 1-1 in the 27th minute before scoring the game-winner 10 minutes later. The Hornets would log another three unanswered goals in the second half.
Marymount returns to action on Tuesday, October 12, against York (Pa.) in Capital Athletic Conference play.
