Women’s Volleyball Tops Shenandoah
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s volleyball team defeated visiting Shenandoah 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 25-18) in non-conference action on Tuesday night. The Saints improve to 14-8 on the season and have won 11 of their last 13 matches.
Three Saints tallied double-figure kills in the win, led by Morgan McAlpin with a match-high 15. Emileigh Rettig added a double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs while Erin Allison chipped in 11 kills.
Brianne Fitzpatrick paced the Blue and White (9-12) offense and added a double-double as well. She ended the night with 45 assists and 12 digs.
Defensively, Cassidie Watson led all players with 19 digs. Cailyn Thomas posted a team-high four blocks at the net while Joanna Hummel and McAlpin both added three.
As a team, the Saints eclipsed the 10 service ace mark for the sixth time and the third time in the last four matches. Allison led the way with four aces while McAlpin added three and Courtney Phung chipped in a pair.
Ashleigh Tanis led Shenandoah with 11 kills.
