Morgan McAlpin Named CAC Player of the Week
York, Pa. – Marymount University sophomore Morgan McAlpin was named the Capital Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. McAlpin led the Saints to a 3-0 record and helped keep the Saints atop the CAC standings.
Averaging 3.40 kills per set on the week, McAlpin hit at a sharp .422 clip in the middle. She added five service aces and eight total blocks on the week.
Opening the week with a non-conference win over Shenandoah, McAlpin collected 15 kills while hitting .429 and added three service aces and blocks each. She added another 12 kills in a three-set win over CAC newcomer Penn State Harrisburg, again hitting over .400 in the match. Closing out the week, McAlpin recorded seven kills at Wesley to go with a pair of aces and four blocks, three of them solo.
Marymount returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to take on Salisbury in CAC play.
