Coach Finney Inducted into Arlington Sports Hall of Fame

Marymount Director of Athletics and Women’s Basketball Coach Bill Finney was inducted into the Arlington Sports
Hall of Fame in May 2009. He is one of just 31 individuals
to receive this honor in the Hall of Fame’s 50-year history.
In his 26 years as the Saints’ head coach, Mr. Finney has achieved a 525-191 record with a winning percentage of .733 – making him 12th among NCAA Division III
coaches nationwide. His teams have won 10 Capital
Athletic Conference (CAC) championships and gone to 15 NCAA post-season tournaments, including one trip to the Final Four, two to the Elite Eight, and eight to the Sweet 16.
Coach Finney’s former players include the 1997 National Player of the Year, Cori Carson, and 11 First Team and Honorable Mention All Americans. He is a four-time CAC Coach of the Year and one-time regional Coach of the
Year. In addition to his coaching duties, Mr. Finney has served as Marymount’s director of Athletics since 1988, overseeing the University’s 12 men’s and women’s sports.
