Wednesday, December 08, 2010
Kansas City, Kans. – Marymount University men’s soccer junior forward Kjell Crooke was named to the 2010 NSCAA/ Performance Subaru All-South-Atlantic Region Third Team, as announced Wednesday. Crooke led the Saints with nine goals and five assists, both team highs, for 23 points to place fourth in the league standings.

Also named a First Team All-Capital Athletic Conference performer earlier this season, Crooke started 18 games for the Saints in 2010. He notched his first goal in the second game of the season against NAIA foe Webber and added multi-goal games against Moravian, including the game-winner, and Gallaudet while also tallying the game-winning score against St. Mary’s (Md.).

Crooke, a local product from Vienna, Va., was named CAC Athlete of the Week once this season after leading the Saints to a CAC victory over Wesley.

Marymount went 8-8-3 in 2010, the program’s best overall record since 1999. The Saints made their 20th consecutive CAC Tournament and were eliminated after Stevenson advanced in a shootout following a 1-1 draw.
