Men’s Basketball Drops First Game of Season in Tip-Off Tournament Finals

Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball team dropped its first game of the season with a 63-45 loss to visiting Springfield in the finals of the Marymount Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday night. Freshman Jesse Konadu was named to the All-Tournament Team for his efforts.

Antonio Rouse led the Saints (2-1) with 11 points while Konadu added 10. Reed Scott led all players with 14 rebounds including 10 in the first half.

Alex Berthiaume led the Pride with 17 points while five Springfield players scored at least seven points. Ryan Coburn had seven rebounds and five blocked shots to lead SC.

Berthiaume took home Most Outstanding Player honors for the Pride while Coburn and Konadu were both named all-tournament. Owen Longacre from Eastern Mennonite and Brett Moyer from DeSales rounded out the all-tournament team selections.
