York, Pa. – Four Marymount University women’s swimmers earned All-Capital Athletic Conference honors, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. The Saints foursome collected a total of 11 medals while junior Anna Macedonia was named CAC Swimmer of the Year.
Macedonia won three individual events and was a medalist in a pair of relays. She set the MU program records in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 23.99, the 100 Backstroke at 57.21 and the 200 Backstroke at 2:02.59.
Setting a fourth school record at the meet, Macedonia teamed with Meghan Morch, Kim Rizzo and Katie Moran to medal in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:39.42. The foursome also medaled in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Macedonia next travels to the NCAA Championships in Knoxville, Tenn., from March 23-26. She will compete in the 500 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke and 200 Backstroke events.
Moran added a pair of individual medals to conclude her impressive rookie campaign. She finished second in the 100 Freestyle relay with a time of 54.11 and also medaled in the 50 Freestyle.
Marymount finished fourth in the CAC Championships with a team score of 372, a mere 14 points behind third place finisher Salisbury.2011 All-Capital Athletic Conference Team
