Arlington, Va. – Marymount University senior women’s basketball standout Maame Amponsah added another accolade to her impressive résumé after being named D3Hoops.com Second Team All-Atlantic Region, as announced on Tuesday. She was one of four Capital Athletic Conference players to earn the postseason honor.

Amponsah was also previously named CAC Co-Player of the Year, First Team All-CAC and Third Team Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District.

Tied for the national lead in rebounding for Division III, Amponsah averaged 15.6 rebounds per game as a senior while adding 11.8 points per game. She posted 17 double-doubles on year and grabbed at least 10 rebounds in every game but one. Amponsah was named CAC Player of the Week twice and set a program record with 22 rebounds in the league opener at Frostburg State.

Marymount went 13-10 under first year head coach Ashlee Courter and finished second in the CAC regular season standings with an 11-5 league record. The Saints concluded their season in the semifinals of the CAC Tournament.
