Men’s Soccer Set to Host First Round of CAC Tournament
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s soccer team earned the fourth-seed of the upcoming Capital Athletic Conference Tournament and hosting duties of the First Round of the draw on Sunday, October 28th. The Saints will host in-state rival and fifth-seeded Mary Washington at Long Bridge Park with a 2 p.m. kick-off.
Marymount defeated the Eagles 1-0 in the regular season during homecoming weekend. Onar Yousefi hit home the game-winner in the 50th minute while Mike Madigan collected eight saves en route to the shutout.
The Saints are making their 21st appearance in the CAC Tournament’s 22 year history after a year’s hiatus. Marymount and Mary Washington have met five times in the CAC postseason with the last three meetings going into overtime.
The winner of Sunday’s game with advance to the CAC Semifinals on the road at top-seeded Salisbury on Wednesday, October 31st.
