Women’s Hoops Adds Erin Brown to Staff
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s basketball program has added Erin Brown to its staff as a graduate assistant coach, head coach Ashlee Courter announced on Friday. Brown will primarily be responsible for post player development with the Saints.
“I am thrilled to announce the addition of Erin Brown to our coaching staff,” said Courter. “Erin's success as a player and familiarity with Marymount is a great combination to help her quickly transition into her new position. Our players will benefit from her knowledge and experience as we look to defend our conference title.”
Brown joins the Saints staff after a stellar playing career at Division I UMBC. While at UMBC, she was a four year letterwinner with the Retrievers and was tabbed First Team All-America East Conference player as a junior and senior as well as named to the All-Rookie Team as a freshman. She finished her career sixth on the UMBC scoring list with 1,361 points, ninth in rebounds with 675 and was top-10 in seven other statistical categories.
Prior to her time at Marymount, Brown also served as the head JV coach at Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, Md.
Marymount went 24-5 overall last season and won its record 12th Capital Athletic Conference championship and made its 17th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Saints return nine letterwinners from last year’s squad.
