Men’s Hoops Falls at Salisbury
Salisbury, Md. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball team dropped a Capital Athletic Conference game at Salisbury 68-49 on Wednesday night.
Freshman Keenan Brown led the Saints with 11 points while sophomore Aaron Walsh added nine and junior Andrew Somuah had six. Senior Bryan DeBruin, junior Karl Nelson and freshman Jonathan DeLao all chipped in five points.
DeBruin led MU with five rebounds while Brown and Somuah had four apiece.
The Sea Gulls (4-4, 1-2 CAC) opened the game on a 13-0 run before Marymount rallied back to pull within five at 18-13 with 8:22 to go in the first half. Salisbury would push its lead to as many as 20 in the frame before the Saints closed things out on a 6-0 run to cut their deficit to 14 going into the break.
Coming out of halftime, Salisbury reestablished its 20-point lead with a 6-0 run and never led by less than double-figures the rest of the way.
Chris McGrew led the Sea Gulls with 19 points while David Pearman added 18. Mike Maczko had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Eric Johnson chipped in 10 points.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday with a non-conference road game at former CAC foe Goucher.
