Women’s Lacrosse Falls in CAC Opener
York, Pa. – Marymount University’s women’s lacrosse team dropped its Capital Athletic Conference opener to York (Pa.) 18-6 on Tuesday afternoon. The Saints even their season record to 3-3 on the season.
Juniors Tancy Weatherford and Lindsay Quinn led the Saints with two goals each while senior Lori Renner and sophomore Stephanie Flood each added a goal. Flood paced MU with a pair of assists while Quinn and senior Katie Dean added helpers.
In goal, sophomore Lourdes Lanzas and freshman Erika Dommes split time evenly by halves and combined for 15 saves. Lanzas hauled in eight in the opening frame while Dommes collected seven in the second.
Lanzas also led the Saints with four ground balls while freshmen Lindsay Bullock and Chelsea Ritter added three each. Sophomore Cecilia Pasquale caused three turnovers to lead Marymount’s defense.
Marymount returns to action at home on Saturday against Susquehanna.
