Suffolk, Va. – Marymount University’s golf team finished eighth at the Virginia Intercollegiate Championship with a two-round total of 623 over the weekend. The Saints posted a second round team score of 311 that was tied for the eighth-best in program history.
Individually, Thomas Cave led the Saints with a 151 (77-74 +7) to finish in 19th while John Goulding was next, tied in 30th place with a 157 (77-80 +13). Cave’s second round score of 74 was tied for the 11th-best round in program history.
Peter Johns carded a 158 (78-80 +14) to tie for 33rd, Brad Johnson was tied for 37th with a 159 (80-79 +15) and Nick Ryerson tied for 43rd with a 161 (83-78 +17).
Bridgewater won the tournament with a 592, followed closely behind by Averett (594) and Roanoke (596). Shenandoah (604), Washington & Lee (607), Lynchburg (609) and Ferrum (612) were in the next flight while Marymount (623), Randolph-Macon (629) and Virginia Wesleyan (638) closed out the scoring.
Marymount closes out the fall season on October 23-24 at the Immaculata Invitational.
