Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s soccer team shutout visiting Hampden-Sydney 1-0 in its home opener on Saturday afternoon. The Saints’ win is their second-straight as they improve to 2-4 on the year.
Ahmed Elmanialawy tallied the lone goal of the game, heading in an Onar Yousefi corner kick in the 74th minute to put the Saints ahead late in the second half.
Kurt Michaels and Logan Cropper split time in the net, combining for Marymount’s first shutout of the season. Cropper paced the Blue and White with four saves.
With Saturday’s victory, Marymount notched its first win over the Tigers (3-2) since 2007; also a shutout at home.
