Men’s Basketball Falls to Wesley
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball team fell 68-45 to visiting Wesley in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fall to 6-14 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Reed Scott led the Saints with 11 points to go with seven rebounds, both team-highs. Antonio Rouse added nine points and Jesse Konadu chipped in eight.
A hard-fought first half saw four lead changes and a pair of ties as both team battled to set the tone. Marymount outshot and outrebounded the Wolverines (16-4, 6-1 CAC) in the frame and cut a six point deficit with 1:38 to play to just two down 31-29 at the half.
Turnovers haunted the Saints in the second half as Wesley scored 19 points off 14 MU miscues. A 13-2 run to open the frame by the Wolverines proved too much for Marymount to overcome.
Paul Reynolds led Wesley with 19 points.
