Award-winning Poet to Offer Discussion and Reading

Wed, Nov 07, 2012, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
LOCATION: REINSCH LIBRARY

Poet, editor, and essayist David Gewanter will visit Marymount for a discussion and reading. The discussion will take place in the Graduate Reading Room from 11 a.m. to noon. A reading will follow in the Lee Reception Room from noon to 1 p.m.

Gewanter's layered, lyrical poetry of ideas typically explore themes of family, nature, and reason. His collections of poetry include In the Belly (1997), winner of Ploughshares’s John C. Zacharis First Book Award, and War Bird (2009).

He has been honored with the Whiting Writers’ Award and a Witter Bynner Fellowship at the Library of Congress.

The entire Marymount community is welcome to attend this free event.
