Marymount University's HRM Speaker Series will host Mr. Gus Siekierka, former Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of CSC, to discuss topics related to his 38-year career in Human Resource Management. At the time of his retirement, he was responsible for all of CSC's global human resource functions.
Mr. Siekierka will discuss the evolution of HRM, from
- "hire and fire" to a more strategic organizational role, working closely with the CEO
- compliance with civil rights laws and affirmative action programs to incorporating diversity as a business way of life
- indemnity plans to HMOs and managed care
- defined benefit plans to defined contribution plans as the social contract between employer and employee
This is an open event and all are welcome to attend.
Parking at Marymount University's Ballston Center is limited. Guests planning to attend this event are encouraged to take the Metro Orange Line to the Ballston-MU station. Guests may also park at Mount Olivet Church (1500 N. Glebe Rd.) and take the Marymount University shuttle bus located on Glebe Road just north of 16th St. A shuttle schedule is available here
