Marymount’s Barry Gallery will exhibit Pa
intings by Nancy Hannans and Beverly Ryan from September 7 through October 11, 2012. All are invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, September 7, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., or to visit the exhibit at any time while it’s showing. There is no admission charge.
Nancy Hannans uses the power of symbols in her art to convey universal themes. Her paintings tell stories that celebrate common human experiences and connections to the natural world. Hannans’ work also features women that embody the beauty of the human spirit.
Beverly Ryan’s paintings display imaginative subject matter that incorporates figurative and abstract imagery. Originally a printmaker, Ryan paints with acrylic on paper and canvas, and oil on canvas and wooden panels.
Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Barry Gallery is located in the Reinsch Library on Marymount’s Main Campus, 2807 North Glebe Rd Arlington, VA.
