Full-time, regular employees accrue paid sick leave at a rate of one day (eight hours) per month of employment. A total of sixty work days (“capped” at 480 hours) may be accumulated. When an employee receives medical/family leave of absence (FMLA or MUFMLA), or short-term or long-term disability, he/she does not continue to earn additional sick leave during the period of such leave. Sick leave is accrued and recorded by the payroll system. Full-time staff employees appointed for fewer than 12 months (9 or 10) earn sick leave on a pro-rated basis.
