This course, MGT 385, is designed to give students a solid basis to face a job assignment related to business in a European country and to develop the ability to navigate cultural diversity, and compare business customs and practices and their influence on business activities across European countries.

This three-week program is a combination of academic sessions; professional site visits to companies in Groningen, Amsterdam, and Bremen, Germany; and various cross-cultural activities. Students will learn about various aspects of doing business in countries of the European Union, such as marketing, management, accounting and legal matters. Program facilitators include Hanze University professors, as well as guest speakers from the private sector.

The main body of the course consists of the 3 main strands in the program, as follows:
  • Marketing, Market Entry, Business
  • Eurozone, Legal, Financial, Political
  • Intercultural Management, European (Business) Cultures, Personal Management, Leadership
Currently, over 50,000 students are registered at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen, where they can choose from 175 courses. The Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen, is the largest university of applied sciences in the north of the Netherlands. Students from home and abroad can choose from over 70 training courses in almost any field.

Tuition: $2665
Program fee: $950

The program fee includes
  • Round-trip airfare
  • Double-occupancy hotel accommodations
  • Some group meals
  • Local transportation to site visits and cultural activities and any tickets for cultural activities that are integral to the course
**The program fee does not include textbooks, personal expenses, some meals, extra baggage and airline fees for flight deviations, cancellations, change fees, etc.

To apply for this study abroad program, you must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 and not be on disciplinary probation.

Admissions for the program are made on a rolling basis, and decisions will be given in a timely manner. However, please be aware that decisions will not be made on a daily basis, so you should expect a delay between when you submit an application and when you receive notification.
