Funding Priorities

The Rhett Leverett Memorial Scholarship Fund
In 2012, the Marymount community established the Rhett Leverett Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Professor Leverett and in honor of his outstanding service to the University and its students as both a teacher and mentor. A member of Marymount's faculty since 1991, Professor Leverett will be remembered for many things, including his kindness, his sense of humor, and his unfailing dedication to Marymount University and our students. Once endowed the scholarship will provide financial aid to a student majoring in politics or history.

Class of 1962 Scholarship
In celebration of their 45th class reunion, the Class of 1962 established this endowed scholarship fund to commemorate the experiences they shared, the friendships they established, and the educational foundation they received at Marymount. This scholarship is awarded to a student who exhibits financial need.

Class of 1974 Scholarship
In celebration of their upcoming 40th Reunion, the Class of 1974 established this endowed scholarship in honor of their time at Marymount. The scholarship once endowed will be awarded annually to a deserving undergraduate student that exhibits academic merit and financial need.

The Black Alumni Endowed Book Scholarship
In 2008, members of the Black Alumni Network (BAN) created the Black Alumni Book Scholarship for current Marymount students who exhibit both academic merit and financial need to aid in purchasing textbooks. As the demand for scholarships and financial aid continues to rise, the Black Alumni Network is looking to expand their outreach through the establishment of an endowed scholarship. Once the endowment is reached, the scholarship will provide additional aid in purchasing textbooks for students that are in need.

Judy and Bill Finney Endowed Scholarship
In 2010, this scholarship was created in Bill and Judy’s honor for their outstanding commitment to Marymount’s Athletic Program. Bill served as the women’s basketball coach from 1983-2010 and also served as the Athletic Director from 1989-2010. Judy spent the first 14 years of his tenure as “head volunteer” then came on board officially in 1997 when she was appointed as the University’s first sports information director.

The Sister Eymard Gallagher RSHM Endowed Scholarship
In 2009, this scholarship was created to honor Sister Eymard Gallagher RSHM who inspired many generations through her leadership to Marymount. Sister Eymard Gallagher served as Marymount’s fourth president from 1993-2001.

The Sylvie Cachay Memorial Project Endowed Scholarship
In December of 2010, Sylvie Cachay, a rising star in the fashion industry and 1999 Marymount alumna, tragically passed away. This scholarship was founded by Sylvie's family and friends in honor of her legacy, spirit, and philosophy on life. Once endowed, the scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving Marymount student enrolled in the Fashion Design program who embodies Sylvie’s spirit and love of life.

Victor E. Indrisano Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1994 in memory of Dr. Indrisano, a dedicated and caring Marymount University professor of Psychology from 1981 until 1994. Once endowed, this scholarship will be awarded annually to a senior Psychology major showing demonstrated need and high academic potential.
