Endowing a Scholarship and other Naming Opportunities

Endowing a Scholarship
This is a meaningful way to honor a loved one, alumna/us, faculty member, or your own Marymount experience. Endowed scholarships:
  • exist in perpetuity
  • may be named for the donor or someone the donor wishes to honor
  • ensure lasting support for Marymount University, its students, and faculty.

The minimum gift level to endow a scholarship is $25,000. This assures an annual scholarship award of approximately $1,000. Larger gift levels will increase the annual scholarship award. Many donors choose to endow a scholarship with pledge payments over one, two, or three years.

As the benefactor of an endowed scholarship, you will be invited to our annual Scholarship Luncheon hosted by President Bundschuh, where you will have the opportunity to meet your scholarship recipient(s).

Other Naming Gift Opportunities
Endowed Chair ($2,000,000 opportunity)
Holding an endowed chair is a prestigious honor, conferred by Marymount University upon faculty members with distinguished records of scholarship and teaching. Resident and visiting faculty are eligible for appointment to an endowed chair, for terms ranging from one to three years. Chair holders take an active leadership role within the academic community, sharing their knowledge, research, and love of their disciplines with students and faculty. Income from an endowed chair pays the faculty member's salary and related expenses, including professional development, research, and travel.

Endowed Professorship ($1,000,000 opportunity)
An endowed professorship supports innovative teaching and high quality scholarship by enabling faculty to focus on research initiatives and curriculum development projects. Income from an endowed professorship supports the faculty member's salary and project-related expenses.
