Marymount encourages students’ moral and spiritual development. Alternative Spring Break is an opportunity for MU students to spend their time-off serving communities in need – an experience that can lead to great personal growth and fulfillment.

“We lived in a small village up in the mountains near the border with Haiti and helped to rebuild a chapel there. Even though it was a very poor community, the kids were always smiling and happier than anyone I’d ever seen.”

“Our group rebuilt a family’s porch and installed a new front door on their house. The family we helped included two elderly grandparents; a special-needs teenager; and the dad, who is a firefighter.”

“We assisted with the restoration of a dilapidated 45-room mansion that had been donated to the Sisters of Life. We also attended Mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, took a ferry ride around the Statue of Liberty, and walked around Manhattan. It was great.”
