Lying on the eastern part of the Indochinese peninsula, Vietnam is a strip of land shaped like the letter “S.” China borders it to the north, Laos and Cambodia to the west, the East Sea to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the east and south. One of the oldest cultures of the Asia Pacific region, it has also been shaped over time by annexation from the Chinese and French as well as political influence from the Soviet Union, China, and Cuba.
Students are expected to take at least one 3-credit language course, if English is not the first language of the country they are visiting.
