Not sure what major to choose? You’re not alone. About 20 percent of Marymount freshmen do not choose a major upon entering the University. Further, according to the National Academic Advising Association, between 60 and 75 percent of students nationwide who declare a major at the beginning of their college studies change their majors at least once before they graduate.
Marymount’s Academic Success Center will help you explore
options for majors and provide advising services to support your academic and class registration needs.
The Academic Success Center will help you develop a plan to prepare yourself to declare a major no later than the end of your sophomore year. That is the time when most colleges and universities require students to declare a major.
In addition to working with a professional advisor at Marymount’s Academic Success Center, you will have the opportunity to use the tools and services of the University’s
Career and Internship Center; talk with faculty members; read professional journals; visit websites; and conduct informational interviews with working professionals in your field of interest.
